By Marco Malcorps from Mikkeller & Friends Bottleshop. A good week ago, I had the pleasure of attending Dark City Fest 2017. The first of its kind, it is the brain child of the good people at Northern Monk Brewing Company, based in Leeds UK.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Bristol for the first time, to attend Bristol Craft Beer Festival on behalf of Mikkeller. I was quite excited, I had never been anywhere in England apart from London, and traveling for work was also a first. Furthermore I had only heard good things about Bristol from costumers at Mikkeller Bar and I have to say, it did not disappoint! The journey ended up taking quite a bit longer than expected but I made the best of it and had a Kriek and a sandwich in Brussels[...]
The Warsaw Beer Festival was celebrated at the Pepsi Arena which is normally the home of football team Legia Warsaw but this weekend it was home of some of the best Polish breweries and a few invited foreign breweries and we were lucky to be one of them.
Last weekend Mikkeller made its way to Switzerland to attend the 3rd Craft Beer Festival Zurich – yet another amazing experience. The venue for the festival was Wirtschaft Ziegelhütte: a small rural cottage with a garden and a restaurant up the hill, in the district of Schwamendingen. This place truly has the most beautiful view on the mountains and the city of Zurich itself. There, surrounded by apple trees and beautiful houses, the beer people of Switzerland gathered to appreciate some[...]
once again we found our way to Leeds for the 6th annual Leeds International Beer Festival. Held in Leeds Town Hall, the venue is simply astonishing. The old building really shines as home to this event, mixing the old architecture with all the new exciting progress that is happening in the beer world. As you entered the grounds you were greeted by; the Magic Circus (new this year) hosted by Magic Rock Brewing. One of the lead partners of the festival along with local Kirkstall Brewery. On the[...]
The first edition of MASH Craft Beer Festival - a gathering of some of the world's top craft brewers under the Barcelona sun - was held in the weekend of September 2nd - 3rd 2017. Brewski, What’s Brewing and Garage Beer Co masterminded the event, which hopefully - judging from this years experience - will be a reoccuring yearly tradition. Mikkeller & Warpigs were invited and had a great time, meeting good friends, a thirsty spanish audience and a local craft beer scene experiencing a rapid[...]
One of the new craft gatherings around is the 'One More Beer Festival' which had its inaugural event the past weekend in Kraków, Poland, September 1st-2nd. Local micro brewery Pracownia Piwa and distributor (and soon to be Mikkeller Warzaw manager) Grzegorz Korcz hosted the two-day, three-session setup with a selection of national up-and-comers pouring their funkiest and finest alongside internationals like Crooked Stave, Omnipollo, Oud Beersel and yours truly. In total 31 breweries, all[...]
We recently returned to Danish soil after an intense trip through the Russian empire, where we hosted numerous tap takeovers, poured beer at festivals, ran, succumbed into the world of Vodka, and had a genuine amazing time! It was a sunny day at the Queen Mary Event Park this past weekend where Sierra Nevada hosted the 2017 edition of Beer Camp: Long Beach. Despite some technical difficulties at set up, we rocked the center island pouring Vanilla Shake, Spontancassis and SpontanDryhop. As expected, the Vanilla Shake had a big reception, and we managed to dry out the keg in less than 2 hours! Thank you to everyone that stopped by the booth and let us know we had the best beer of the fest. Also, Thank you to the[...]

Sour beer, plush reindeer! Head brewer Kyle from beer and BBQ heaven Warpigs and Dennis, bar manager at lambic nirvana Koelschip, went Norway to represent Warpigs and Mikkeller at the Handverksolfestivalen in Oslo. Beer showers, rain and mud, and lots of fun had with fellow brewers. That’s pretty much our outing to Norway in a nutshell. The festival took place in a deconsecrated church, and it’s hard to imagine a better place to invite fiends such as ourselves. Located smack bang in the center[...]
A thick blanket of humidity and pouring rain didn’t stop Philly beer fans from celebrating the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp in Penns Landing. The sun did peek out every now and then and sweet views of the Delaware river provided a tranquil backdrop for some festival drinking and hanging. We poured Spontan Dry Hop Mosaic and Beer Geek Breakfast all day long, met some super cool Mikkeller fans and made sure to sample every beer from this years Beer Camp Across the World lineup. Highlight of the day?[...]
Having visited many countries across the world we know how long and boring a 9-hour plane ride to any city can be. Flying with SAS though completely change that perception, and when we boarded the plane in Copenhagen last week we knew that the 9-hours to Chicago would fly away and that beers in the sky would be great too.
Mikkeller attended Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp in San Francisco this past weekend. The festival took place at Pier 48, right across AT&T Park and with a beautiful view of the San Francisco Waterfront. The Mikkeller booth was in located in the center of the festival and surrounded by almost 100 breweries. We got the chance to pour an old favorite, Texas Ranger and the new core beer by MikkellerSD Raspberry Blush. People really loved the refreshing tartness with a hint of coffee. There were some[...]
